The Y-EDCO project has reached an important midterm stage, marking the transition from planning and development toward testing, implementation, and wider engagement with young people, educators, and local communities.
Y-EDCO – Youth EDucation on responsible use of plastics for Cleaner Oceans and waterways – is an Erasmus+ project dedicated to raising awareness among young people about plastic pollution in inland and ocean waters. The project combines environmental education with digital innovation, including Augmented Reality, to make learning more interactive and accessible.
During the first phase of the project, the consortium focused on building the foundation for the main project results. This included coordination and quality planning, the development of educational content, progress on the digital learning platform, and dissemination activities to increase visibility across partner countries.
Several key deliverables are connected to the midterm period, including the Training Needs Analysis Report, the English version of the Y-EDCO Training Manual, translated training materials, the LMS platform, and the first newsletters.
The midterm period also provides an opportunity for partners to review progress, assess quality, and align upcoming activities. According to the project management structure, progress monitoring, quality assurance, and financial reporting are central responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle.
As Y-EDCO moves into its next phase, the focus will increasingly shift toward youth participation, workshop delivery, piloting of educational resources, and wider dissemination. The consortium remains committed to creating practical, engaging, and multilingual tools that help young people understand the impact of plastic pollution and take action for cleaner oceans and waterways.
