The Y-EDCO consortium is preparing for an upcoming youth workshop dedicated to responsible plastic use, cleaner oceans, and healthier waterways.
The workshop is part of Work Package 4, which focuses on youth awareness of responsible plastic use for cleaner oceans and waterways. Its aim is to bring young people closer to the environmental challenges caused by plastic pollution and to encourage practical action through education, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
The workshop will introduce participants to the Y-EDCO educational approach, which combines sustainability topics with digital and interactive learning methods. Young people will explore how plastic waste enters rivers, lakes, seas, and oceans, how microplastics affect ecosystems, and how everyday choices can contribute to long-term environmental change.
The project foresees a dedicated workshop planning package, implementation report, and evaluation report, ensuring that the activity is carefully prepared, documented, and assessed.
The Y-EDCO training materials are designed to support young learners, educators, youth workers, NGOs, and local communities. Each educational module includes learning materials, posters, quizzes, and AR-enhanced elements, creating a more engaging experience for participants.
The upcoming workshop will also serve as an important opportunity for participants to share their views, test educational activities, and contribute to the development of resources that can later be used across partner countries.
Through this activity, Y-EDCO continues its mission to empower young people as active contributors to environmental sustainability and cleaner water ecosystems.
